U.S. Olympic Women's Ice Hockey Team Falls to Canada 4-2

In a preliminary round at the Beijing Olympics the U.S. Olympic Women's Ice Hockey Team lost to Canada by the score of 4-2. The U.S. team outshot the Canadian team by a wide margin, 53-27. But as U.S. coach Joel Johnson said, "We had a lot of offensive zone time and generated a lot of shots. But shots don't win games, goals do."
The two teams are likely to meet again in the medal rounds. The goal medal in women's ice hockey has only by won by U.S.A. and Canada. The U.S.A. is the defending Olympic champion having won the last gold medal in the 2018 Pyeongchang Games.
