2022 U.S. Olympic Women’s Ice Hockey Team Set to Defend Gold Medal

The roster for the 2022 U.S. Olympic Women’s Ice Hockey Team was announced recently at the NHL’s Winter Classic in Minneapolis.
The roster contains a bevy of veterans with 15 of the 23 players having played Olympic hockey previously. Hilary Knight has the distinction of being named to her fourth Olympic women’s ice hockey team. Three others, Kendall Coyne Schofield, Brianna Decker, Amanda Kessel and Lee Stecklein will appear in their third Olympics. Joel Johnson, head coach of the 2022 U.S. Olympic Women’s Ice Hockey Team, said “The skill, focus and energy they bring to the ice will serve us well as we head to Beijing with our sights set on bringing home gold.”

The 2022 Winter Olympics are being held in Beijing, China. The women's ice hockey tournament will occur from February 3-17, 2022. Team members will sport a new look Olympic jersey. As described by USA Hockey, “American pride and ingenuity were the inspiration behind the USA Hockey look. The new USA Hockey jersey pays homage to America’s industrial past, while representing the future of innovation and technology. The USA wordmark across the front chest uses a bold type and precise details to create a beveled metallic aesthetic.”
